It’s the Message Stupid

by Jeff Swanson

Try this completely non-scientific experiment. Answer this simple question:

What does the GOP actually stand for?

Have an overflow of answers? A nice list of solid conservative principles? Your psyche brimming with a litany of reasons why it’s awesome being a Conservative Republican? Continue reading

Republicans, Minorities and All the Demographic Hubbub

by Jeff Swanson

It’s pretty clear from the post election Conservative fits that the Republican Party is going to fail at capturing minority votes. Just downright fail. As much as I hope against hope the party will alert itself to the growing minority population, we are destined to be old white guys.

Conservatives’ Terrifying Message – By David French – The Corner – National Review Online.

If you had told me the day before the election that Mitt Romney would win independents by five, convincingly win among all voters making more than $50,000 per year, and that evangelicals would vote for Mitt by wider margins than they did for even George W. Bush, I would have assumed he’d be on the path to victory. But Secretary Clinton was talking about the fellow who made the supposedly Islamophobic video that supposedly set off the sacking of the Benghazi consulate. And, indeed, she did “have that person arrested.” By happy coincidence, his bail hearing has been set for three days after the election, by which time he will have served his purpose. These two videos — the Islamophobic one and the Obamosexual one — bookend the remarkable but wholly deserved collapse of the president’s reelection campaign. Continue reading →
